Patients referred to our office by another dermatologist or other physician for Mohs surgery or malignant melanoma excision may either schedule an appointment for both a mini-consultation and surgery on the same day OR schedule a preoperative consultation to discuss the operation with the actual procedure being done at a later date. Our scheduling nurse will need to get a copy of your biopsy report (usually faxed over by the referring physician) and your current insurance information. If these items are faxed over directly from your referring physician, we will be contacting you, but you can also call our main number in order to schedule.

Once the procedure has been performed and routine postoperative care has been completed, we will ask you to follow-up with the physician who referred you to our practice. It is important that you have a skin cancer check by this physician on a regular basis from now on because of your increased risk for the development of another skin cancer.
