Lynn D. Cooper, M.D.

Lynn D. Cooper, M.D. is originally from Baton Rouge, Louisiana.  Dr. Cooper completed a residency in Anatomical and Clinical Pathology at The Ohio State University, where he served as chief resident in his final year.  He then completed a Dermatopathology fellowship at the University of Michigan, the largest melanoma referral service in the United States.    Dr. Cooper is a board-certified Anatomic/Clinical Pathologist and Dermatopathologist and a fellow of the American Society of Dermatopathology.

Dr. Cooper comes to Skin Cancer Specialists, P.C., while serving as the Medical Director of a national Dermatopathology laboratory.  His expertise in the field of dermatopathology focuses on the study of cutaneous diseases at a microscopic level.  His areas of interests include melanocytic lesions, inflammatory dermatoses, atypical cutaneous lymphoid infiltrates, and soft tissue neoplasms.  Dr. Cooper is a regular lecturer at multiple Dermatology residency programs, a regular lecturer at the national Dermatopathology meetings, and he has been published in numerous scientific journals.

Dr. Cooper is married to his wife Layla, and they have three beautiful daughters, Sarah, Hannah and Ella. In Dr. Cooper’s free time, he is active in his church and enjoys exercising and playing basketball with his daughters.
