It’s no secret that a plump, youthful-looking pucker is the gold standard for lips. For some (lucky!) people, these lips come naturally. For others, genetics and aging have made it difficult to get fuller lips without getting a little extra help from lip augmentation fillers.

Lip augmentation fillers are injections that are designed for one thing, and one thing only: to get you a fuller, softer, and more hydrated pout. Most lip augmentation fillers contain hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring compound that increases collagen production while improving the body’s ability to retain water molecules (that’s some heavy moisturization).

So which are the best fillers for lip augmentation? Take a look:

In previous years, the only option for tightening sagging skin was surgery; more specifically, a traditional facelift procedure. However, recent advances in technology have made it possible for patients to get great results from non-surgical treatments, like Ultherapy.

So what exactly is Ultherapy – and how can it tighten sagging skin?

Ultherapy is an FDA-approved ultrasound treatment that penetrates the skin to tighten and tone the deepest dermis layer. By targeting the foundational layer of the dermis, Ultherapy creates more noticeable and long-term results. While the results won’t be like a traditional facelift procedure, Ultherapy can help with common aging symptoms like:

You’ll typically need about 2 to 3 Ultherapy treatments in order to see your best results. Each treatment usually takes about 60-90 minutes to administer. Final results are usually seen within 2 to 3 months after your last procedure. Ultherapy is a long-term solution for sagging skin; however, patients with severe wrinkles and sagging skin may find better results from a traditional facelift.

At Skin Cancer Specialists, P.C. & Aesthetic Center, our dermatologists can help you get firmer, more youthful-looking skin – without having to go under the knife.  To learn more about tightening sagging skin with Ultherapy, schedule a consultation at Skin Cancer Specialists, P.C. & Aesthetic Center today. Did you know that there are over 3 million cases of skin cancer diagnosed in the United States each year? With many of those cases located in the southern part of the country (there’s a link between latitude and skin cancer), it’s more important than ever for people in the greater Atlanta area to schedule regular skin cancer screenings.

But exactly how often should you undergo a skin cancer screening?

In general, it’s recommended that you undergo an annual skin cancer screening from your physician or a dermatologist. A medical professional can examine any moles, markings, or any other skin abnormalities that may be indicative of skin cancer. What’s more, a medical professional can measure and track moles and freckles on the skin throughout the years. That way, if anything changes, you can get the immediate treatment you need to remain healthy.

You don’t have to wait for your annual skin cancer screening to take charge of your health. If you want to get started, it’s recommended that you check your own skin every three months. Make note of any freckles, moles, or anything else that stands out from your skin. Have a loved one examine the skin you can’t see (like behind the neck, back, and backs of legs). Keep examining these skin abnormalities; if you notice any of the following, make an immediate appointment with your dermatologist:

If you suffer from hyperhidrosis (otherwise known as excessive sweating), you may feel like you’ve tried every treatment out there – all without good results. But if you haven’t heard of miraDry yet, then it’s time to introduce yourself to a lightning-fast procedure that can end excessive sweating…

For good.

What is miraDry?

miraDry is an FDA-approved treatment for hyperhidrosis; it uses electromagnetic energy to effectively destroy the overactive glands that cause excessive sweating. Once those sweat glands are gone, so is the excessive sweating – and that brings about the kind of relief you just can’t get from antiperspirants.

The procedure is pretty straightforward. A local anesthetic is used to treat the underarm area, which helps keep the patient comfortable throughout the two-hour procedure. A small incision is made, which allows a tiny device to be passed through right to the treatment site. The end of the tube delivers pulses of electromagnetic energy. By the end of the procedure, most – if not all – sweat glands are destroyed.

Patients notice an immediate improvement in sweating. Most patients need only one procedure, although more extreme cases may require two treatments.
