Botox Vs. Fillers: Which One is Right For Me?

October 12, 2016

When it comes to achieving that youthful glow, you know that skin creams and serums just won’t cut it.  Sure, they may provide a temporary boost – but you need something long-term.  You need the kind of anti-aging weapon that’s so powerful, your wrinkles, creases, and fine lines won’t stand a chance.

Sound familiar?  Then it’s time to consider adding Botox or filler injections to your skincare regimen.  Both injections have been used by millions of women and men who want to look – and feel – their best.

Both injections have the power to smooth away wrinkles, add much-needed volume, and help turn back the hands of time.

Both injections are trusted and used by dermatologists and plastic surgeons around the world – but which injection is right for you?

Let’s take a look:

  • Suffering from forehead lines? If you have permanent frown lines etched across your forehead, it might be time to consider Botox injections.  This injection contains botulinum toxin, a natural compound that blocks nerve activity between the brain and the muscle.  This blockage causes the forehead muscles to relax, resulting in the smoothing of forehead lines and wrinkles.
  • Missing your facial contours? If you have shallow cheeks or sagging, dermal fillers (like Juvederm) could be better for you.  Unlike Botox, fillers are designed to add volume in the injection area; wrinkles are smoothed away as a secondary result.  Fillers can be used to add cheek volume, as well as restore facial contours around the cheekbones and jawline.

If you feel that you have problems with both, you don’t have to choose – Botox and fillers can be used together!

Both treatments last for several months; however, Botox only lasts for three to six months, meaning you’ll need to get regular injections to maintain your wrinkle-free look.  Fillers last slightly longer, with some brands lasting between twelve to eighteen months.

Still not sure which one is right for you? Then schedule a consultation at Skin Cancer Specialists, P.C. and Aesthetic Center to learn more about Botox and fillers.  With four offices located in the Georgia area, you’ll be able to visit a Skin Cancer Specialists, P.C. near you!
